QNAP NAS Rip Blu-ray/DVD/HD Videos for Samsung 4K TV

To be sure, most of us like you may know how to rip Blu-ray/DVD movies and Convert HD videos, and have been doing so just fine. But the problem we must face is how to rip Blu-ray/DVD to QNAP NAS proper format with best settings for DLAN streaming while keeping the original visual quality as much as possible.

Mostly I have hundreds of DVD, Blu-ray that I am trying to upload to my QNAP NAS. After doing some searches in Google, we will realize that MP4, MKV are the most common supported formats for computer, Apple TV 4, iOS devices, PS 4, etc via streaming videos from NAS devices. In a word, the next thing we should do is to convert Blu-ray/DVD to MKV/MP4 for QNAP NAS streaming.

I searched for "qnap nas rip bluray" since I was specifically looking to use a NAS. Then i found Brorsoft Video Converter Ultimate (for Windows) | iMedia Converter (for Mac). The software is a total video converter suite to handle conversions between video, audio, DVD and Blu-ray discs. It comprises video converter, Blu-ray ripper, DVD ripper. This total video converter suite could convert all video/Blu-ray/DVD files to video in various popular formats for different uses. The internal video editor and 2D to 3D converter make this program user-friendlier.

What's more, it provides the preset formats with optimized settings for over 150 popular devices, including iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Galaxy, PS3/PS4, Xbox One/360 and many more for directly playback.

Now follow the steps below and backup DVD, Blu-ray to QNAP NAS.

(Note: Click here for OS X 10.5)

STEP 1. Add Blu-ray, DVD files

Insert your Blu-ray disc into your BD drive, run the Blu-ray ripping software and click "BD/DVD disc" icon to load your Blu-ray movies. As you can see, you can preview the loaded Blu-ray files in the right preview window and select Blu-ray audio track/subtitle. DVD disc, DVD folder, ISO/IFO files are supported as well.

STEP 2. Choose output format

To convert Blu-ray to NAS storing and streaming, just click on the dropdown menu of "Format", and then choose MKV, H.264 MP4 from Common Video profile list. If you want to keep 1080p resolution as source movie, you can choose HD Video > H.264 HD Video(*.mp4) or MKV HD Video(*.mkv) as output format.

Generally I have been trying to use H.264 MP4 to get 1080i/1080p quality for playing from a QNAP NAS directly to my Samsung 4K TV.

STEP 3. Start converting Blu-ray to QNAP NAS

Press the "Convert" button to start ripping Blu-ray/DVD movies for NAS streaming. When the conversion finishes, click Open button to find the output files. Make sure the wireless network connection is accessible among the NAS and HD TV or other media players. Then just enjoy the high quality movies at ease.
